Abstract
Background: Currently, Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University (Unsri) apply 2 Systems leaming in Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC), 2006/2007 CBC and 2011/2012 CBC. Composition of basic and clinical medical Science on any blocks in 2011/2012 CBC were changed. There has been no research of both curriculums, whereas this is very important to evaluate curriculum implementation. Research Objectives: Knowing the students’ and lecturers’ perceptions about basic and clinical medical Science of general practitioner students through Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) 2006/2007 and 2011/2012 in the faculty of medicie Sriwijaya University (Unsri). Method: This study was a qualitative research. Data was obtained by in-depth interview with students of 2010 class, students of 2011 class, and lecturers. Result: Mostly, the perceptions were obtained from students group are same. The difference perceptions seen on topic, like academic activity, method used to repeating basic medical Science and advantages of basic medical Science for helping in the exams and tutorials. Whereas, lecturers group agreed on the concept of integration of tutorials and integrated-teachings. They also felt that substances of Science in both of academic activity, tutorials and intgrated-teaching, enough, but they still not satisfied with the competencies of students. Conclusion: Students of 2011 group have been able to understand and apply basic medical Science in clinical block, whereas students of 2010 group have not been able to. Lecturers group thought that students have achieved competencies.
