Abstract

The emergence of the Covid-19 Pandemic in the world has caused unrest and has changed everything in human life.Here it can be seen that there is a shift in human style or habit in communicating information with others in the pandemic era, it is said that because nowadays humans no longer need to communicate at the same time, place. Virtual communication is inseparable from an internet media that uses it as a means of communication.Especially the style of communicating Virtual communication itself which is where the process of delivering and receiving messages using (through) cyberspace / cyberspace which is interactive. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective virtual communication is in the use of the zoom application. This study uses theory media wealth according to Richard L.Draft and Robert H Lengel (1986).The applied method is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis techniques. This study was conducted with a sample of 74 respondents. Data collection in this study used questionnaire dissemination, observation, and documentation techniques. Based on data analysis conducted on 74 respondents who answered 16 questionnaire statements deciphered from the four dimensions used, three dimensions can be concluded to fall into the effective category and one dimension falls into the category of moderately effective. Thus, it can be concluded that the Zoom application in online lectures can be said to be in the Effective category. keywords :Covid, Virtual Communication, Online Lectures, Zoom Application, Media Wealth Theory.
