Abstract
Retina is one of the most popular biological character for identification process. blood vessel pattern in retina has long, wide, tortuosity, branches pattern, angles which can be used for diagnosis process and follow-up for identification of diseases in the retina. The first step to recognize retinal vein is by segmentation process. This research proposes the image segmentation method which is Multilevel Thresholding-Otsu which can be processed with different threshold value. This research use dataset from Structured Analysis of The Retina (STARE). Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) is a comparison of image quality value which used to compare similarities between segmented images and original images. The test results showed that this method resulted high segmentation quality with average PSNR value of 39.13 dB and accuracy which is 90.16%.
