Abstract

This research was aimed to description adoption process of jasmine sambac planting, to identifying what factor’s farmer background to applying adoption of jasmine sambac planting, to count production cost and eamings obtained by farmer in adoption jasmine sambac planting. This research was implemented in Sub District Sako in April 2008. This research used the case study method at Melati Indah farmer’s group. The sampling method in this research was census on 10 farmer’s from the jasmine sambac planting in Sub District Sako Palembang. The collected data were primary and secondary data. The primary data were obtained by interview to sample respondents, and the secondary data were obtained from the goverment institusions. The data was get were prepared descriptively in the form of exposition. The result of this research adoption process Melati Indah farmer’s group start from awareness phase, intersting phase, evaluation phase, trial phase and adoption phase. The background of farmer is the jasmine farmer which is little, high request from consumen, can trial in small area, and economic value is high. The expenditure production cost of farmer is enough high and income he get which is high enough from before.
