Abstract

Acrylic resin has disadvantage that is able to absorb solution. Ifthis solution has color so then it will cause color changes to acrylic resin. This research is aimed to know influence ofgreen tea and black tea to color changes as heat-cured acrylic resin as denture base. Besides, its goals is also to know for how long submerging that acrylic resin experiences a meaning color changes. This research is pure experimental. Its sample consist of 30 round acrylic plate with 5 cm in diameter, that is divided into 3 group, those are the sample is put into aquadest, green tea, and black tea. Color changes are seen luminance of sample by using tools such as temperature, Sound Level, and Light Sensor. Measurement is done when acrylic plate before it was submerged or 0 day and after 7 and 14 day after submerging. Then its result is tested by using Paired T-test. From this research, shows that luminance ofsample before and after submerging has a significant different color changes. Color changes occur after sample was submergedfor 7 days, that the means ofluminance of sample put into green tea is 92.230 and sample put into black tea is 91,950. Meanwhile, green tea and black tea has difference after submergingfor 14 days, mean ofluminance of green tea is 93.320 andfor black tea is 93.810. This case shows that tea, green tea or black tea has a significant difference and influence color change in heat cured acrylic resin for denture base.
