Abstract

Hypertension is a condition when a person experiences elevated blood pressure up normal, which is systolic over 140 mmHg and diastolic over 90 mmHg. Despite the increasing prevalence of the hypertension, the control cases are low. The hypertension left untreated will lead to serious health conditions such stroke and death. On of the non-pharmacological therapies that recommended for dealing with hypertension is ergonomic gymnastic. This study aims to applying ergonomic gymnastic physical therapy in family nursing care with hypertension. The method used in writing this scientific paper is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach in three families with hypertension. From the study, the nursing problems that found are acute pain, lack of knowledge, ineffective health management. The nursing implication that can be provided by the nurse are educate about hypertension and the application of ergonomic gymnastic to deal with hypertension. Result of the evaluation from all of the clients found that the family capable to identify the hypertension's problem and capable to take care the family members with hypertension. It concluded that ergonomic gymnastic physical therapy can lower the blood pressure in hypertension patients
