Abstract

The research objective was to study comparison amongst purchasing, wage and combination systems at sugarcane plant maintenance at PTPN VII Cinta Manis in order to get the minimum operation cost. This study was carried out at PTPN VII Cinta Manis, Ketiau Village, Tanjung Batu Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir District from March to May 2008. The method used in this study was survey method (case study). Data was consisted of primary data and secondary data which were analyzed by using technical analysis, costing, and comparison. The results showed that minimum cost for herbicide I PC application for 2004 to 2007 was by using wage system with PV total value of 3,309,348,808.45 rupiahs and R value of 0.32, whereas the maximum cost was by purchasing with PV value of 5,751,369,501.51 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.84. The minimum cost for herbicide I Ratoon application was by using wage system with PV total value of 4,014,528,761.78 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.32, whereas the maximum cost was by using combination 2:1 system with PV value of 6,505,614,359.42 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.97. For cultivation I PC, the minimum cost was by using wage system with PV value of 1,515,816,.227.52 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.32, whereas the maximum cost was by using purchasing method with PV value of 4,671,462,504.00 i rupiahs and R2 value of 0.87. The minimum cost for cultivation I Ratoon was by using wage system with PV value of 3,637,958,946.05 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.32, whereas the maximum cost was by using purchasing method with PV value of 9,600,022,828.80 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.82. For fertilizing II PC operation, the minimum cost was by using wage system with PV value of 8,808,481,471.47 rupiahs and R value of 1,00, whereas the maximum cost was by using purchasing method with PV value of 109,215,025,920.00 rupiahs with R2 value of 0.77. For fertilizing II Ratoon operation, the minimum cost was by using wage system with PV value of 5,685,717,636.80 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.32, whereas the maximum cost was by using combination 1:1 system with PV value of 8,108,580,246.17 rupiahs and R2 value of 0.16. In conclusion, the minimum cost for herbicide I application, cultivation I, and fertilizing II for PC and Ratoon was by using the wage system.
