Abstract

The sonar system itself have been widely used for cruise ships, but only for large cruise ships as well as in ports. Therefore, in the research to be carried out, researchers designed a system for detecting depth and position on the surface of the water using a microcontroller-based sonar system with micro SD recording. By making a tool that applies the sonar system in this study, small communities who often have activities in the waters can find out how deep the waters are being traversed and what the depth is, of course, very useful, especially in terms of finding fish or something else. The data obtained from this depth measurement is set in centimeters which are obtained using the MB7060 sonar sensor and are equipped with latitude and longitude data from the GPS module NEO 6m Ublox and will be processed by Arduino and displayed on the LCD and will be stored on the SD Card. From the results of the tool test, the lowest measurement results were obtained on the MB7060 sensor 93.63% at a measurement depth of 79 cm and the highest measurement was 96.43% at a measured depth of 164 cm and the lowest precision was 94.27% at a depth of 83 cm and the highest precision was 96.90 % at a depth of 164 cm as measured using a comparison tool, namely the tape measure.
