Abstract

Hypertension was deflned as an increase in arterial blood pressure abnormal ongoing. Marked hypertension when the systolic blood pressure > 140 mmHg and diastolic > 90 mmHg. Tooth extraction procedure in patients with blood pressure conditions require different treatment is not same and quite complicated. Tooth extraction patients with a history of hypertension need to be considered in the selection of materials anesthesia with vasoconstrictor and possible complications that can occur. The studies were done is kind of descriptive survey. The research sample was taken with the purpose of sampling techniques, patients with a history of hypertension with tooth extraction cases in Poli Dental Hospital. Dr. A.K. Gani Palembang period January 2010 - September 2012. Analysis of data using tables of distribution and presented as a percentage. The results showed that the number of patients who came for treatment to Poli Dental Hospital. Dr. A.K. Gani Palembang totaled 20.121 people in the period January 2010 - September 2012 with 196 (0.97%) of them were patients with a history of hypertension with tooth extraction cases. Most age range between 50-59 years (37.25%), and the percentage of tooth extractions in patients with a history of hypertension in men is higher than women with a number of 104 (53.06%).
