Abstract
Assay activity research has done a bitter taste karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) extract against carrageenan induced white male rats. This research aims to know the influence of granting karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) extract against carrageenan induced white male rats as well as knowing the value of effective dose (ED50) of karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) extract. The extraction process of karamunting leaf conducted with stratified maceration method uses three types of solvents of varying levels of moderately, namely n-heksana, ethyl acetate, and ethanol. Ethanol extract contains flavonoids, phenolic compounds, saponins, and tannins. Ethyl acetate extract contains flavonoids and steroids, and n-heksana extract contain steroids. Animal testing is carried out are divided into 9 groups consisting of a group of normal, negative group (Carboximethyl Celullosum Sodium 1%), positive Group (diclofenact sodium 0.9 mg/200 gBB), three treatment groups extract (200 mg/dose kgBB), and four treatment groups of active extract of ethyl acetate (100 mg/dose kgBB; 200 mg/kgBB; 400 mg/kgBB; 800 mg/kgBB). The test is done by measuring the udem on soles of the feet of rats using plestimometer every 30 minutes for 3 hours. The effects of bitter taste all karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) extract the equivalent positive control treatment diclofenact sodium (p>0.05). Results percent inhibition of inflammation treatment active ethyl acetate extracts, doses of 100 mg (45.53%), a dose of 200 mg (54.08%), a dose of 400 mg (54.19%), and a dose of 800 mg (56.75%). Effective dose (ED50) obtained amounted to 159.16 mg/kgBB.
