Abstract

Water is one of the vital needs for human life. Fulfilling the need for water, especially bottled drinking water, has had an impact on the emergence of various companies that produce bottled drinking water. Good production raises efficiency costs so that it benefits both producers and consumers. This research was conducted to determine and analyze the effect of industrial concentration on efficiency in the bottled drinking water industry. The data used is secondary data for the 2000-2019 period obtained from the publication of the Central Bureau of Statistics. The analytical tool used is the concentration ratio calculation method for 4 companies (CR4), efficiency calculations use the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) using the Cobb-Douglas production function as the frontier production function and simple linear regression. Based on the results of observations and analysis it is known that there is no industrial concentration and has the fifth type of oligopoly market structure and has an inefficient value. Based on simple regression analysis, it was found that the concentration of industrial values is not significant to the bottled drinking water industry in Indonesia.
