Abstract

The development of concrete materials continues to be carried out so the concrete has the properties and characteristics in accordance with the needs. One of the innovations in concrete is green concrete and lightweight concrete. The production of lightweight concrete can be produced by substituting the conventional aggregates into lightweight artificial aggregate. The material that has potential in the manufacture of artificial aggregates is fly ash, because of its pozzolanic nature and such waste product that must be utilized. Other materials that can be used in the manufacture of artificial aggregates are clay and lime. Based on the above, it is necessary to carry out further experimental research in the development of artificial fly ash aggregates using research variables in the form of constituent materials in order to produce optimal mixture composition, water ratio, manufacturing and hardening techniques so as to produce artificial aggregates with desirable physical and mechanical properties. In this study, it was found that the specimens that had optimal physical and mechanical properties compared to other specimens were specimens with code F80-CL10-Ca10-P with a density of 965.02 kg/m³, a porosity value of 59%, a compressive strength of 17.91 Mpa, and impact value of 46%.
