Abstract

Health workers play an important role in improving optimal health services in the community to improve the highest public health status. In various cases and studies conducted, the main problem with nurse turnover intention is closely related to job satisfaction and burnout at work. Over time, the increase in patients also causes an increase in the need for nurses, which can affect job satisfaction, job burnout, and intention to leave work (turnover intention). This study aimed to determine the effect of job satisfaction and job burnout on nurse turnover intention at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Hospital, South Sumatra Province. The object of this study were nurses with a sample of 274 people at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Hospital in South Sumatra Province with a survey research approach using the cross-sectional method, which was analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS application 4. The results showed no significant effect between job satisfaction, job burnout mediated by job satisfaction, and demography mediated by job satisfaction on turnover intention. There is a significant positive effect between job burnout on turnover intention, a significant negative effect between Job burnout on job satisfaction, a significant negative effect between job satisfaction on job burnout, a significant effect between demographics on job satisfaction, a significant effect between demography on job burnout, a significant effect of job satisfaction on turnover intention mediated by job burnout, and a significant effect of demographics on turnover intention mediated by job burnout. Therefore, it is necessary to have the support and role of the HR manager to regulate and readjust Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) about exchange procedures the nurse's schedule, and can build a program such as counselling to overcome the low personal achievement (personal accomplishment) in nurses.
