Abstract

The project of building roads can be said to be a very high-risk project because road construction contains asphalt in the road-making raw materials. Asphalt is generally used at temperatures above 100°C. The biggest hazard is a skin burn, however, at low temperatures, bitumen also poses a health hazard, especially the poisons in the asphalt content. The purpose of this study was to analyze the health risk assessment in the asphalt manufacturing process at PT Dua Putra Pribumi Perkasa. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with an observational approach using the Walk Through Survey technique. The results of the study obtained three risk categories, namely high, medium and low risk categories. The high risk category was obtained from the sound of the dryer, the sound of the hot elevator machine and air pollution, then for the medium risk category, namely hot screen filter vibration, air temperature in stone drying, cool bin machine sound and akward posture, finally for the low risk category, namely ash aggregate, work stress, and air temperature in the mixer machine. That this research found four hazard factors, namely physical hazard, chemical hazard, ergonomic hazard and psychosocial hazard which are found in every asphalt-making process.
