Abstract
This study is a descriptive research that aims to determine the types of errors made by high school students in solving high order thinking skills problems on mathematics subjects. Subjects in this study are 20 high school students who studied in one of Primagama branch office located in Palembang. From 20 subjects, 7 people were 10th grade science students, 8 people were 11th grade science students and 5 people were 12th grade science students. Data was collected using tests and analyzed using the Newman’s procedure. The test instrument used is 3 items consisting of 2 National High School Mathematics Exam problems in 2016 and 1 PISA problem in 2012. The results showed that the types of errors made by students are comprehension, transformation, process skill and encoding. The most common error students made are process skill and encoding.
