Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Analyze the economic and non-economic impacts on rice farmers affected by flooding in Rantau Durian II Village, Lempuing Jaya District, Ogan Komering Ilir District. 2) Measuring farmers' perceptions of efforts to deal with flooding on rice fields in Rantau Durian II Village, Lempuing Jaya District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. 3) Knowing the relationship between rice farming income and efforts to deal with flooding in Rantau Durian II Village, Lempuing Jaya District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The results showed that: 1) Floods in Rantau Durian II Village had socially non-economic impacts, namely there was a shift in work, culturally planting was a shift in planting schedules, educationally learning about floods and other sources of income, and environmentally submerged rice thereby reducing productivity, as well as the economic impact in the form of lower flood-affected rice farming productivity, from 3,500 kg/ha to 2,291 kg/ha with an income of IDR 6,633,855 lg/mt. 2) Farmers' perceptions of efforts that can be made and are highly recommended to deal with flooding in Rantau Durian II Village is the existence of crop failure insurance with a loading factor of 0.91. 3) The relationship between rice farming income and efforts to deal with floods on rice fields in Rantau Durian II Village is not significant, the level of strength of the relationship is weak, and the direction of the relationship is unidirectional.
