Abstract

The purpose of this study is to: (1) Describe the local wisdom practiced by lowland farmers in Tanjung Lubuk Village Tanjung Lubuk District, (2) Identify the behavior of lowland farmers in Tanjung Lubuk Village Tanjung Lubuk District in farming, (3) Identify the way of lowland farmers in Tanjung Lubuk Village Tanjung Lubuk District did the survival strategy. This research was conducted in Tanjung Lubuk Village Tanjung Lubuk District Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. Determination of the research location was carried out purposively. The research was conducted in November 2022. The research method was carried out using a survey method. The sample selection was carried out using a purposive method with the consideration that the research respondents had lowland rice farming and had side jobs outside of lowland rice farming. Based on the research that has been done, the results are: (1) Local wisdom that has been passed down from generation to generation is still carried out and implemented in Tanjung Lubuk Village. Local wisdom in rice farming is still carried out and applied in Tanjung Lubuk Village in rice farming and fishing using traditional tools, (2) The income obtained by farmers from lowland rice farming cannot meet the needs of a decent life in Tanjung Lubuk Village, therefore farmers need to implement a strategy to fulfill it. There are 3 survival strategies carried out by lowland farmers, namely active, passive and network strategies., (3) The behavior of lowland farmers in carrying out rice farming is included in the high criteria.
