Abstract

Kecepatan air menembus tanah melalui rongga-rongga tanah baik secara horizontal maupun vertikal disebut permeabilitas tanah. Koefisien permeabilitas tergantung pada distribusi ukuran partikel, bentuk partikel, dan struktur tanahnya. Permeabilitas tanah sangat mempengaruhi proses pelaksanaan konstruksi serta pasca konstruksi. Pada tanah lempung ekspansif yang merupakan tanah yang memilihi sifat kembang susut yang tinggi maka perlu dilakukan perbaikan tanah dan perlu diketahui bagaimana pengaruh air terhadapnya setelah dilakukan perbaikan. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah pengujian permeabilitas metode falling head di laboratorium. Sampel tanah yang diuji adalah tanah lempung ekspansif yang distabilisasi dengan serbuk cangkang telur. Pengujian dilakukan dengan lima variasi yaitu penambahan serbuk cangkang telur 3%, 7%, 11%, 15%, dan 19% dengan masa perawatan 0 hri, 1 hari, dan 7 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai koefisien permeabilitas tanah yang telah ditambahkan serbuk cangkang telur cenderung mengalami penurunan dibandingkan dengan nilai koefisien permeabilitas tanah asli. Selain itu masa perawatan benda uji juga mempengaruhi niali koefisien permeabilitas tanah. Nilai koefisien permeabilitas tanah asli adalah 3,59x10-6 cm/detik. Nilai koefisien permeabilitas terendah terjadi pada campuran 19% serbuk cangkang telur pada masa perawatan 0 hari yaitu 1,60x10-6 cm/detik.
