Abstract

This research is a descriptive research that aims to describe students mathematical reasoning skills using the approach of Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) on the pyramid volume materials. The subject of research that is students of class public junior high school no 1 at south Indralaya Selatan that requires 31 people. The learning is done according to the characteristics and steps of PMRI learning. The technique data used are observation and written test consisting of three questions. Based on the results of the research, it is obtained that mathematical reasoning skills of the students using PMRI approach in class class public junior high school no 1 at south Indralaya Selatan categorized good with the following data: students who have excellent mathematical reasoning skills are as much as 8 people, 12 students have mathematical reasoning skill with category good, 8 students have mathematical reasoning skill with category medium, 1 student has mathematical reasoning skill with category less, and 2 students have mathematical reasoning skill with category very less . The frequency indicator of mathematical reasoning skills with the highest is filed allegations or possible answers, while indicator of mathematical reasoning skills with the lowest percentage is to check the validity of the argument.
