Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of students' expectations to work as ASNs on students' intentions to work as public servant. In addition, this study also uses trust in the bureaucracy as a moderating variable to answer public anxiety regarding perceptions that say the Millennial Generation and Generation Z lack interest in becoming civil servants. The research method used is a quantitative research method with PLS (Partial Least Square) and MRA (Moderated Redression Analysis) techniques. The population in this study were Public Administration Students at faculty of Social Science and Political Science in Sriwijaya University with a total sample of 284 students. Sampling calculations were carried out using the Simple Random Sampling (SRS) and proportionate stratified random sampling (PSRS) approaches. The data used is primary data obtained through distributing questionnaires with a Likert measurement scale. The results of this study determine if there is a significant influence between students' expectations to work as public servant on students' intentions to work as public servant. Belief in the bureaucracy cannot moderate the relationship between the variable student expectations to work as public servant and student intentions to work as public servant, so this variable cannot strengthen the relationship between student expectations to work as public servant and student intentions to work as public servant.
