Abstract

Composite resin as a restoration material in the mouth would interact with liquid, whether in the mouth of liguid or oral fluid. This modern life style makes society consume water with the different pH likes tea and soft drinks. The aim of this study was know the inftuence of different pH water to the hardness of hybrid composite resin. our The subject of this study was cylindrical hybrid composite resin (CharismaIM) with 5mm in diameter, 2mm in thickness, and light cured for 20 seconds. The eighteen sample were devided into tree groups with six samplesfor each groups. Each sample were immersed with aquabidest for 24 hours to make same dampness. Then, each sample were immersed with tea, soft drinks and aquabidest as a control on 3,5 days. The sample were measured the hardness by Microhardness Tester STIIMADZU IlMV-2 with 2,942N of burden. The data were analyzed by one way ANOVA andLSD0,05. The result of hardness value at pH 7 (29,37+1,84138VHN), pH 2,5 (23,77+0,66232 VHN), and pH 5 (25,67±0,80911VHN) showed the highest value of hardness was at pH 7 and the lowest was at pH 2,5. There proved that different pH of water influence the hardness of hybrid composite resin (p<0,05) which the lowest pH caused the lowest hardness value of hybrid composite resin.
