Abstract

Hybrid composite resin as a tooth colour restoration material would interact with oral fluid. Indonesian people drink tea daily . The aim of this study was to recognize the influence of various black tea concentration to the color change of hybrid composite resin. Twenty five disc specimens (lOmm in diameter and lmm in thickness) were made of hybrid composite resin (DiaFil™). The specimens were light cured for 40 seconds on the three different pointed. The specimens were divided into five groups and immersed in aguadest at room temperature for 24 hours. The color parameter (L*a*b*) of the specimens were measured by Chromameter type CR-10 Konica Minolta Co. Ltd. Japan. The specimens were immersed in 20ml black tea solution were 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, dan 6% concentrations at room temperature for 15 days. The color parameter were measured again after every immersion and the colour change (AE*ab) were calculated. The data were analyzed by one way ANOVA and LSDo.os. The result showed that concentrations of black tea significanly influence the color change of hybrid composite resin (p<0.05) which colour change (AE*ab) of the concentration in 2% (7,8480±0,76), 3% (7,118±1,10), 4% (6,518±0,68), 5% (6,000±0,39), and 6% (5,086^0,84). 2% concentration gave biggest colour change (AE*ab) and 6 % concentration gave the smallest colour change (AE*ab) of hybrid composite resin.
