Abstract

In industrial area, inspection method for components and equipments are highly necessary in order to create inspection plans for equipment inspected needed, determine inspection time, and determine the suitable inspection method for the equipments. In this study the inspection method used is Risk-Based Inspection (RBI). Risk-Based Inspection is a methode that combine risk between probability of failure (POF) and consequence of failure (COF) as the calculation result. The equipment inspected with RBI method is Pressure Relief Devices (PRD). Probability of failure calculation have certain elements that determine the result calculations such as type of PRD used, inspection previous result, equipment age, safety factor management, and etc, then in consequence of failure calculation on PRD, the consequence calculated is financial consequence occurs such as cost of environmental clean-up costs, potential injury costs, material costs, and etc. Result of combination between probability of failure and consequence of failure are projected in a risk matrix which have categories of failure occurs. Each of equipment obviously has different failure in it, amount of risks level resulted and calculated of each of equipment are depend on how the equipment threated. The aim of this research are to design an RBI software to analyze risk of Pressure Relief Devices in PT. Pusri Palembang using Visual Studio 2017 and it refers to API 581 2nd edition. Pressure Relief Devices have 2 main failure that used to occured which are fail to open and leakage, result of the inspected PRD showed “LOW” category for fail to open failure mode, and “MEDIUM” category for leakage failure mode.
