Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial performance of Islamic banking and whether there are differences in the financial performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia as a whole in 2020 before the merger and in 2021 after the merger by using Independent Sample T-Test and the Mann Whitney test in analyzing the financial performance of Islamic banking. This study involved CAR, ROA, and NPF ratios in assessing financial performance and using Islamicity Performance Index (IPI) measurements with PSR and ZPR ratios in assessing Islamic banking performance. The object of this research is Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia that are many registered with the Financial Services Authority for 2020-2021 periodic. The results of this study indicate significant differences in the financial performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia in 2020 and 2021 through the CAR, ROA, and ZPR ratios. Meanwhile, the PSR and NPF ratios show that there is not any significant difference in the financial performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia in 2020 and 2021. The results of this study also show that the presence of a merger affects the improvement of Islamic bank performance as measured by the ratio of CAR, ROA, NPF, PSR, and ZPR compared before the merger.
