Abstract

This research is motivated by the current phenomenon that the role of women needs to be built in a sustainable manner so that they are more able to face growing global challenges, not to mention that traditional society is still strong with a patriarchal culture, therefore the class IIA Palembang women's prison proves that women can also lead an agency. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. This study uses the theory of Bernard M. Bass. The results of the study show that women's leadership in prisons can be said to be successful because it is in accordance with existing regulations and can also be seen from the existing evidence, obtained by researchers during observations, interviews and from the archives in women's prisons Class IIA Palembang. women's leadership in increasing discipline in class IIA Palembang women's prisons has been running according to predetermined rules, also using a transformational leadership style that has been applied to prisons and employees who work have carried out and implemented work discipline in accordance with regulations. affect the level of discipline in prisons, namely exemplary leadership, supervision, legal sanctions, firmness with that, it will be able to mobilize employees properly and instill applicable norms and rules and high discipline to employees in class IIA Palembang women's prisons.
