Abstract

Rice is an important commodity in maintaining the stability of food security in Indonesia. Calculation of production efficiency in farming is important to analyzse that farmers can allocate production factors appropriately to get maximum production with minimal costs. The aims of this research were 1) to analyze the level of technical and allocative efficiency of rice farming in Tanjung Lubuk Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency; 2) to analyze the correlation of socio-economic factors with technical and allocative efficiency of rice farming in Tanjung Lubuk Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency; 3) to formulate a strategy for improving the technical and allocative efficiency of rice farming in Tanjung Lubuk Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The location selection was done purposively. The research method used in this study is survey method and the sampling method used is simple random sampling. The total sample of rice farmers were 32 samples. Technical and allocative efficiency was analyzed using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and to analyze the correlation of socio-economic factors with technical and allocative efficiency using the Pearson correlation test using SPSS 26 software. The results showed that rice farming in Tanjung Lubuk Village, Tanjung Lubuk District, Ogan Komering Regency Ilir is not efficient technically and allocatively. Technically efficient farming efficiency is 12 (37.5%) DMU and allocatively efficient farming is 10 (31.25%) DMU. Socio-economic factors that correlate with technical efficiency and allocative efficiency are income variables, while the variables of age, education, farming experience and number of dependents do not have a correlation with technical and allocative efficiency.
