Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diuron and metsulfuron methyl dosed on the growth of sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) ratoon 1 and weeds in the PG Cinta Manis rayon 4. This research was conducted from August to October 2022. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) which consisted of 10 treatment and 3 blocks, so there were 30 experimental units. The treatments were P1 (Control), P2 (Diuron 2.5 kg ha-1), P3 (Diuron 3 kg ha-1), P4 (Diuron 3.5 kg ha-1), P5 (100 g ha-1 Metsulfuron Methyl), P6 (125 g ha-1 Metsulfuron Methyl), P7 (Metsulfuron Methyl 150 g ha-1), P8 (Diuron 2.5 kg ha-1 + Metsulfuron Methyl 150 g ha-1), P9 (Diuron 3 kg ha-1 + Metsulfuron Methyl 125 g ha-1), P10 (Diuron 3.5 kg ha-1 + Metsulfuron Methyl 100 g ha-1). The results showed that the dominant weed before treatments of herbicides Brachiaria mutica with an SDR value of 29.39%. Meanwhile, the dominant weed after herbicide application was Cyperus rotundus with an SDR value of 43.48%. The P9 treatment (Diuron 3 kg ha-1 + Methyl Metsulfuron 125 g ha-1) had the highest average plant height (31.37 cm). The P10 treatment (Diuron 3.5 kg ha-1 + Methyl Metsulfuron 100 g ha-1) had the largest average plant diameter (2.50 cm). Keywords: Weeds, Diuron, Metsulfuron Methyl, Sugarcane.
