Abstract

South Sumatera is a province with enormous potential for the development of floating farming systems. Floating plant cultivation is a technique in plant cultivation activities using rafts as a solution when it is flooded or inundated. The horticulture sector has a strategic role in supporting national economic growth. One of them is a horticultural plant that has high economic and commercial value is the red chili plant. In this study, floating cultivation used rafts composed of 10 bamboos measuring 2 x 1 m. Red chili (Capsicum annum L.) is a type of horticultural crop that is important for commercial cultivation. This chili has a fairly complete nutritional content, which has a high economic value which is widely used both for household consumption and for the food industry. Compound NPK fertilizer is one of the inorganic fertilizers with the availability of macro nutrients (N, P and K) so that it is efficient in time and application. This study was carried out in the reservoir of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya North District, Ogan Ilir Regency, from May to August 2022. The method used in this study was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 4 treatment levels. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, so that there were 24 treatment units, each treatment unit had 3 plants so that there were a total of 36 plants. In the treatment of compound NPK fertilizer doses, namely P0 = Control, P1 = 2,5 g NPK 16-16-16/polybag, P2 = 5 g NPK 16-16-16/polybag, P3 = 7,5 g NPK 16-16- 16/polybag. The results of the observations were analyzed by means of variance and 5% BNT test. Parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, crown diameter, greenness of leaves, flowering age, number of fruits, total and per fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter, number of branches, plant fresh weight and plant dry weight. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that the P0 (control) treatment with various recommended doses obtained better results for each variable observed compared to NPK recipients.
