Abstract

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a plant that originated in Asia. Eggplant is a vegetable plant from the Solanaceae family. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the composition of planting media namely soil and cow manure and the effect of the dose liquid organic fertilizer derived from pineapple peel on the growth and yield of eggplant plants. This research was conducted from August to December 2022 in Talang Buluh Village, Sukomoro District, Banyuasin. This research used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, namely planting media composition and dosage of pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer. The first factor is the composition of planting media which consists of 2 levels, namely A1 = soil : manure 2:1 and A2 = soil: manure 3:1. The second factor is the dose of pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer, namely B1 = pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer concentration 10%, B2 = pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer concentration 15%, B3 = pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer concentration 20%, and B4 = pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer concentration 25%. The total treatment consisted of 8 treatments combinations with 3 replications and each replication contained 2 plants, so there were 48 experimental units. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and continued with 5% Least Significance Different test. The results showed that the application of pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer gave better results than the application of cow manure. The combination of planting media and application of pineapple peel liquid organic fertilizer did not have a significant effect on all observation parameters.
