Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate the growth and production of rice from Inpago 12 and Inpara 8 varieties and BC1F1 accession after experiencing submergence stress in the vegetative phase. The research started from July to December 2022 in greenhouse and concrete water, Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used was Split Plot Design with 3 replications. The main plot was submerged stress treatment (S) consisted of S0 = control (not submerged), S1 = submerged stress at 21 DAP. The subplots consisted of V1 = Inpago 12 variety, V2 = Inpara 8 variety and V3 = BC1F1 accession. Analysis of variance was used, to test the difference among the treatments continued with least significant difference (LSD) test at 5% level. The parameters observed in this tolerance test were plant height, leaf greenness, number of tillers per clump, number of leaves, flowering age, harvest age, length of panicle, number of grain per panicle, weight of grain per panicle, number of panicles per clump, number of grain per clump, weight of grain per clump, weight of 100 grains, percentage of empty grain, proportion of plant dry weight and root canopy ratio. The results showed that BC1F1 accession resulted from the crossing between Inpago 12 and Inpara 8 had not shown a good level of tolerance to submerged stress in the vegetative phase.
