Abstract

This study aims to determinethe influence of HOTS-based learning designs on students' critical thinking skills in Civics subjects at MA Nurul Amal Pancasila.The approach used in this study is a quantitative methodQuasi Experimental Designwith the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design and data collection techniques in the form of observation, tests and documentation, as well as data processing techniques carried out using the help of the SPSS version 24 data processing application and Microsoft Excel. The results showed that there was an increase in the critical thinking of the experimental class students seen from the average post-test by applying HOTS-based learning design of 83 which was included in the high category. And based on the results of the analysis of the Independent Sample T-Test, the value of Tcount is obtained, namely = 7.948 with a significant value of 0.000 <0.05, this indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the HOTS-based learning design has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills in Civics subjects at MA Nurul Amal Pancasila Key Words: Higher Order Thinking Skill, Critical Thinking, MA Nurul Amal Pancasila.
