Abstract
In today's era, technology is rapidly developing and able to cover every aspect of human life. It is not only limited to household electronic appliances, but also transportation. Transportation is a part of daily life, on land, in the air and at sea. In the case of maritime transportation, one of the technological advances being developed is in the field of unmanned ships, also known as autonomous ships. This research was conducted to determine the readiness of employees in shipping companies, and the readiness of the maritime environment in South Sumatra towards this technology. This study used a literature study method and an interview method to distribute. The research questionnaire used the technology acceptance model (TAM). The questionnaire was distributed randomly to 82 active workers in shipping companies in South Sumatra. Perception analysis was based on perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude towards using technology, behavioral intention to use, and actual system usage. The analysis used statistical analysis, the confirmatory factor test, and the structural equation modeling test. Based on the analysis and data processing results, it was found that there is still a lack of interest among workers in shipping companies to change their current manual ship usage system to autonomous ships, even though they already know the advantages of this technology. Meanwhile, shipping companies would be happy to adopt autonomous ship technology in the future because it will improve their productivity.
