Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi petani terhadap teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari, mengukur tingkat adopsi Teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari, dan untuk menganalisis hubungan persepsi dan tingkat adopsi petani terhadap teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari di Desa Sumber Mulyo Banyuasin. Pelaksanaan penelitian dalam pengumpulan data dilapangan berlangsung pada bulan juni 2006 di Desa Sumber Mulyo Banyuasin. Matode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus pada petani padi dan tempat ditentukan secara sengaja (purposive). Metode Penarikan contoh dilakukan secara sensus terhadap petani yang menanam padi varietas Cilosari yang berjumlah 20 orang. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data primer dan sekunder. Metode pengolahan data dilakukan dengan cara perhitungan skor dan uji tabel silang (cross table). Untuk menganalisis hubungan antara persepsi dengan tingkat adopsi terhadap teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari digunakan uji tabel silang. Data yang diperoleh diuraikan dalam bentuk tabulasi dan dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian persepsi petani terhadap teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari, memiliki persepsi sangat setuju dengan total skor 19,20 berarti petani menyetujui seluruh teknik budidaya. Tingkat adopsi petani terhadap teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari tergolong dalam kriteria tinggi dengan total skor 20,55 yang berarti petani menerapkan seluruh teknik budidaya varietas Cilosari. Hubungan antara persepsi petani dengan tingkat adopsi terhadap Teknik budidaya padi varietas Cilosari yang dianalisis dengan menggunakan tabel silang menunjukkan hasil 85 % petani memiliki persepsi dan tingkat adopsi tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut terdapat hubungan positif diantara kedua variabel yang diuji, berarti ada kencenderungan bila persepsi tinggi maka tingkat adopsi tinggi, dan sebaliknya bila persepsi rendah maka terdapat tingkat adopsi rendah pula.
