Abstract

Geopolymer concrete is a type of concrete in which the use of portland cement as a binder in the concrete mix can be partially or completely replaced with coal combustion waste such as fly ash. An example of using this type of concrete is Flat Slab. Flat slab is a type of two-way reinforced concrete slab that does not use beams and girders, so that the load is directly supported by the columns. Because it does not have a beam that functions as a barrier to shear stress, it can cause shear stress or punching shear in the slab. Experimental testing of flat slab behavior against monotonic loads such as punching shear from previous studies can be carried out using the finite element method. The finite element method is usually used to validate the results of experimental tests that have been carried out. From the results of finite element analysis using the ANSYS Mechanical APDL program, load-deflection curves, stress contours, deflection contours, ductility, structural stiffness, energy dissipation, and the effect of punching shear on the longitudinal reinforcement ratio are obtained. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that geopolymer concrete material can be used to replace lightweight aggregate concrete, especially when used together with a longitudinal reinforcement ratio which has a high value in flat slabs, because geopolymer concrete has a nominal shear strength with a higher value than ultimate shear strength (Vu ≤ 0.75Vn).
