Abstract
This study aims to analyze the Indonesia-China economic diplomacy in facing the industrial revolution 4.0. Industry 4.0 has become a global trend in manufacturing where each country competes to be superior to other countries in the field of technology by issuing policies to adopt this concept. Based on the Institute for Management Development (IMD) regarding the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2022, Indonesia's competitiveness ranking has decreased to 44th out of 63 countries where previously Indonesia was ranked 37th in 2021 and this is Indonesia's lowest ranking in the last 5 years. Meanwhile, China is currently ranked 17th globally. This proves that Indonesia is still unable to face industry 4.0 perfectly. Therefore, Indonesia needs cooperation with other countries. So, to examine how the Indonesia-China economic diplomacy strategy is in dealing with the industrial revolution 4.0, this research uses the concept of economic diplomacy from Peter and Moons where to deal with industry 4.0, the government can use the Use of Influence and Political Relations (Government, NGOs, and IGOs), Use of Economic Assets and strengthen relationships (Potential Natural Resources and Human Resources), and Consolidation of the Political Climate and International Environment (Government Policy). This study used descriptive methods and data collection techniques using the literature study method. The final results of this study found that to face the industrial revolution 4.0, Indonesia has supported the implementation of its industrial revolution through the Making Indonesia 4.0 program and the government is also consistent in establishing cooperative relations with China in encouraging the industrial revolution 4.0 in Indonesia. This is proven by the launch of foreign policy and the MoU with China regarding the implementation of Industry 4.0. Keywords: Industry 4.0, Making Indonesia 4.0, Manufacturing, Tiongkok.
