Abstract

Tourism is an attractive sector for foreign tourists to visit or vacation in a country. A high number of foreign tourist visits indicates that the country has a strong attraction in terms of tourism, but the number of foreign tourist visits each period fluctuates. Predictions of the number of foreign tourists are very important to be used as information in making decisions and planning appropriate activities. Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) Ruey Chyn Tsaur is a method used to predict the number of foreign tourist visits because it has the advantage of fuzzy logic with mathematical techniques so that the prediction results are accurate. MAPE on FTS is used to measure the performance of the method as the level of accuracy of the predictions made. The historical data test used 175 data from January 2008 to July 2022 with parameter values D1 and D2. From the results of the analysis carried out with 50 input experiments on the parameters, the best accuracy results were obtained with D1=4215 and D2=214, with a MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) result of 6.65%.
