Abstract

Background: Maternal anemia during pregnancy is still a health problem, it can endanger the safety of the mother and the health of the fetus in the uterus. Purpose: To know the relationship between maternal anemia and attitudes concerning health behaviors during pregnancy Method: Quantitative research with a cross-sectional design, the population is pregnant women at the public health center Kepahiang District. The sample of 104 pregnant women aged 18 to 20 years as respondents. Instrument attitudes concerning health behaviors during pregnancy and check laboratory maternal anemia. Data statistics used univariate, Bivariate, and multivariate analysis, data analysis chi-square. Results: The finding of 104 respondents, 79 (76%) had a high vulnerability, 71 (68.3%), had a high seriousness, 58 (55.8%) felt a high benefit, 71 (68.3%) felt a high sign, and 85 (81.7%) had anemia. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that susceptibility, seriousness, cues/signs, benefits had a significant effect on the incidence of anemia in pregnant women with a p-value <0.05. In the result of multivariate analysis, the most dominant variable influencing the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Kepahiang Regency is the seriousness variable with a p-value = 0.000 < (0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant influence between vulnerability, seriousness, benefits and cues that affect the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Kepahiang Regency. Suggestion: It is necessary to improve health promotion efforts, especially for pregnant women so that the compliance of pregnant women to perform ANC increases
