Abstract
The purpose of this study was to know fishing activities and trading of clown loach fish (Botia macracantha Blkr) at Penukal river Muara Enim regency, South Sumatera province. The study was conducted in Nopember 2002 ? Apryl 2003 with survey methode. The clown loach fish is endemic species of Indonesian waters, specially South Sumatera open waters. It is economical, as export comodity from fishery sector. The production of clown loach fish from fishing in open waters, used berumbung (traditional fishing gear-bamboo trap). It is specially to fishing clown loach fish. Trading route : fisherman → peliwaan ( first buyer) → toke (second buyer) → exporter (thirth buyer)
