Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness with knowing at the physics student learning outcomes through the application of learning models problem based instruction. Methods used in this study was quasi experimental methods to One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Research was conducted in SMP state 6 Indralaya in the second semester of the school years 2010-2011. Data collection techniques used were a test, observation and questionnaire. Tests were conducted two times the pre-test and post-test used to test the hypothesis. Analyses of test data obtained value tcount = 6,81 while ttable = 1,699. While the observation made during learning activites take place during the six sessions, obtained an average of student activity is 74%, and the average activity of teacher is 93%. Results of analysis of questionnaire student motivation data before applying PBI to Attention 64%, Relevance 65%, Confidence 58% and Satisfaction 65% of the subjects of physics. After being given treatments increased to 71% Attention, 70% Relevance, 68% Confidence and 73% for Satisfaction. Overall PBI learning model effective because it can improve the results of studying physics.
