Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi dan sektor industri diiringi dengan peningkatan penggunaan zat warna yang semakin banyak sehingga berpotensi mencemari lingkungan. Salah satu zat warna yang sering digunakan dalam industri adalah metilen biru. Zat warna metilen biru ini memiliki struktur benzena yang bersifat toksik, sulit untuk diuraikan, karsinogenik dan mutagenik. Penelitian dengan judul optimasi adsorpsi zat warna metilen biru menggunakan metode RSM (Response Surface Methodology) dengan adsorben komposit CaO (cangkang telur puyuh) / PEG / Fe3O4. Cangkang telur puyuh dipreparasi untuk mendapatkan serbuk CaO yang selanjutnya dikompositkan dengan nanopartikel magnetit. Komposit CaO/PEG/Fe3O4 dibuat dengan massa (1:0,5:1) dan hasil sintesis CaO/PEG/Fe3O4 yang dapat dikarakterisasi menggunakan VSM, XRD, dan BET. Penentuan efisiensi terbaik menggunakan model CCD (Central Composite Design). Berdasarkan analisis design expert 12, faktor konsentrasi, waktu kontak, dan pH metilen biru berpengaruh pada persen efisiensi. Kondisi efisiensi terbaik diperoleh pada konsentrasi pada 1 ppm, waktu kontak 120 menit, pH 10, persen efisiensi 93,39%, dengan nilai desiribilitas atau tingkat ketepatan sebesar 0,956.
