Abstract
This research aimed to design, build and test rotary dryer that used husk biomass as fuel. This research was conducted at Machinery Workshop of Agriculture Agency of South Sumatera Province in October 2017. The method of this research used engineering design presented in the form of tables, technical drawing, and pictures. The implementation of this research consisted of some steps. They were design approaching, structural design, functional design and performance testing. Parameters observed and calculated on this research were parameter of material, heat requirement analysis, efficiency analysis and grain quality. The results of this research showed that the material capacity was 3,84 kg/hour, average rate of drying was 1,22 %db/hour, and average efficiency of drying was 26,37 %. Average fuel consumption required was 0,313 liter/hour and quality resulted was 72,65 % of whole grains.
