Abstract

Salmon fish oil (SOF) is a type of functional food similar to probiotics. MIS contains fatty acids which have the ability to effect the growth of Bifidobacteria Longum.B Longum has good antibacterial properties so it is often us an good bioactivity. This research was conducted to determine the effect of MIS for growth of probotic and the effect of the combination of these two test sample so that they can be used as good antibacterials. Test probiotic growth was counted out usely the total plate count (TPC) method and determining antibacterial activity Kirby-Baur, diffase disk method. The best result TPC value for growth probiotic obtain the concentration in 2.5% was (TPC value : 4.24 ×108 CFU/mL). Determination of antibacterial activity was obtained that B Longummetabolite with probiotic stimulate by MIS had a better antibacterial activity compared to without stimulate by MIS ( Inhibation zone diameter : 21.38 mm). Statistical processing results showed that variation in MIS concentration in this study have not significanly ( P>0.05) Stimulate probiotic growth.
