Abstract

RINGKASAN Keberadaan Perpustakaan Daerah Sumatra Selatan di Palembang bersifat eksklusif untuk kalangan tertentu, dan kurang menarik untuk pengunjung di luar mahasiswa, peneliti, dan akademisi. 57,7% masyarakat tidak mengetahui adanya Perpustakaan Sumatra Selatan (Hasil Survei, 2022). Di era modernisasi seperti sekarang ini, segala aspek diharuskan untuk bisa beradaptasi dengan perkembangan zaman, termasuk perpustakaan. World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) merumuskan perkembangan desain perpustakaan harus dapat merangkul masyarakat, atau bahkan berkembang menjadi perpustakaan partisipatif yang relevan dengan pengguna perpustakaan. Maka dari itu dibutuhkan perpustakaan yang dapat merespon dan mengakomodasi kebutuhan generasi saat ini beserta komunitasnya untuk menjaga perpustakaan tetap dapat beraktivitas secara terus menerus. Perancangan Perpustakaan Daerah Sumatra Selatan menggunakan pendekatan arsitektur perilaku guna mewujudkan perpustakaan yang relevan dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan generasi saat ini. Penerapan arsitektur perilaku mempertimbangkan perilaku manusia dengan arsitektur itu sendiri, dalam kaitannya perilaku manusia dapat di fasilitasi arsitektur. Data diperoleh melalui pencarian fakta-fakta lapangan yang diambil dengan menyebarkan kuesioner dan survei lapangan. Data-data tersebut menghasilkan analisa yang kemudian dirumuskan, dengan demikian, perumusan masalah bersifat spesifik dan unik. Penerapan arsitektur perilaku diaplikasikan melalui orientasi bangunan yang dibuat menghadap ke Jalan Utama Demang Lebar Daun dan Jalan Lingkungan Sungai Sahang sebagai pendukung, peletakan dan orientasi tersebut mempertimbangkan kebutuhan masyarakat akan keterbukaan sebuah gedung publik. Akses masuk dibuat sangat terbuka untuk merangkul masyarakat menuju ke dalam lingkungan perpustakaan sehingga tidak adanya sekat antara perpustakaan dan masyarakat. Keberadaan batasan berupa pagar dan gerbang digantikan dengan taman dan pedestrian sehingga dapat menarik minat masyarakat untuk menyatu dengan lingkungan perpustakaan. Kata Kunci: Perpustakaan, Perpustakaan Daerah Sumatra Selatan, Desain Perpustakan, Arsitektur Perpustakaan, Arsitektur Perilaku SUMMARY The existence of the South Sumatra Regional Library in Palembang is exclusive to certain circles, and less attractive to visitors other than students, researchers and academics. 57.7% of the public are not aware of the existence of the South Sumatra Library (Survey Results, 2022). In this era of modernization, all aspects are required to be able to adapt to the times, including the library. The World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) formulates that the development of library design must be able to embrace the community, or even develop into a participatory library that is relevant to library users. Therefore, we need a library that can respond and accommodate the needs of the current generation and their communities to keep the library running continuously. The design of the South Sumatra Regional Library uses a behavioral architectural approach to create a library that is relevant and in accordance with the needs of the current generation. The application of behavioral architecture considers human behavior with the architecture itself, in relation to human behavior that can be facilitated by architecture. Data was obtained through searching for field facts taken by distributing questionnaires and field surveys. These data produce an analysis which is then formulated, thus, the formulation of the problem is specific and unique. The application of behavioral architecture is applied through the orientation of the building which is made facing the Demang Lebar Daun Main Street and Sungai Sahang Environmental Road as a support, the placement and orientation takes into account the community's need for the openness of a public building. Access is made very open to embrace the public into the library environment so that there is no barrier between the library and the community. The existence of boundaries in the form of fences and gates is replaced with parks and pedestrians so that it can attract people's interest to blend into the library environment.
