Abstract

Internal force of Steel structure is very important to knowing to prevent the failure of Steel structure and to knowing modification which needed Steel structure to get deflection decreasing at a new structure will be build. The modification which use for decrease deflection by adding longitudinal stiffener at web of beam. To know decrease of deflection, there are many steps which must to do : First is we must draw models of IWF beam without modification and IWF beam with modification at SAP 2000 v.12 . Then it devided to many elemens which called shell elemen. Then give joint load and distribution load. After that the models must be analysed with SAP 2000 v.12. From SAP 2000 analysed result, could make graph bending stress and deflection from each models. From its graph could see that there are decrease bending stress and deflection at modification beam compare with beam without modification. At IWF beams Flens, reduce bending stress more than at elemen points which more close with restrain. It happen because iners at modification beam more than iners at beam without modification. The reducing of deflection percentage which happen more than at element points closer than restrain compare with element points at center of beam.
