Abstract
PT. prima Abadi Karya is a nickel ore mining industry company located at Tangofa site, Central sulawesi province with mining system using open pit mine method. The applied drainage system is mine dewatering where runoff water entering the mine will accumulate into the sump and then water is released with a MF-100XHV multiflo pump and flows to a pipe consisting of a 6-meter suction pipe and a 231 meter HDPE exhaust pipe to an open channel before entering into a mud sediment pond. With the rainfall intensity of pit 1 Tangofa site is 6.96 mm/hr, the runoff water discharge estimated to enter the mine is 4411 m3 / hr. However, sump pit 1 Tangofa which is at elevation +28 mdpl can’t accommodate the discharge of runoff, so when it rains there is flood in the area around the sump which has lower elevation. Therefore, it is necessary to re-plan the sump dimension with the surface area of 11449 m2 ,the basin of the basin is 8649 m2 and the depth of 7 meters well, then the volume of wells that can be accommodated is 70343 m2 . The pump that have been used with an actual pumping discharge of 936 m3 /hr. The number of pumps in the field is enough to reduce the water discharge in the sump with the pump working hours for 20 hours. The pumped water discharge is discharged to an open channel with a 758 meter channel length and a channel bottom slope of 0.8%. The Volume of settling ponds of the required sludge plan amounted to 69379 m3 with dredging sludge ponds conducted 4 times a year.
