Abstract

This study aims to know the impact of managerial ownership on firm value with debt policy as mediating variable to companies in Basic Industry and Chemical Sector listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. Population in this research is all companies in Basic Industry and Chemical Sector listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange that total 65 companies. Sampel thechnique used is purposive sampling thus sample in this research is 22 companies. Analytichal technique used in this research is path analysis. The result of this study indicate that managerial ownership does not impact firm value and debt policy can not mediate the impact of manajerial ownership on firm to companies in basic industry and chemical sector listed in indonesian stock exchange. The result of this study shows is not in line with agency theory that state the increase of managerial ownvership is able to decrease agency problems. So it is better for companies in this sector pay more attention to another factors to decrease agency problems and increase firm value.
