Abstract

Determination of Time Interval and Depth of Flooding at Caisim Planting Media Using Ebb and Flow Technique. K.H. lskandar dan Amin Rejo Program Studi Teknik Petanian. Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwij ay4 Inderalaya 30662 Telp- (0711l) 580664, Fax (071 1) 580276 The objective of this research was to determine the proper time interval and depth of flooding for caisim plant growth using ebb and flow technique. Design of experiment used in this study was Factorial Completely Randomized Design with two factors of treatment and three replications for each treatment. The fisrt treatment was time interval of flooding (L) at three levels with magnitude of 10, 15, and 20 minutes, respectively. The second treatment was depth of flooding at three levels with magnitude of 6, 9, and 12 m respectively. Results of Analysis of Variance test showed that the time interval and depth of flooding treatments had siginificant effect on freshly weight and dry weight of caisim yields, freshly weight and dry weight of caisim roots. However, the interaction of the two factors had no significant effect on the observed parameters. Time interval of 20 minutes had produced the highest freshly weight of caisim with magitude of 1.401 kg/m2 compared to l0 and 15 minutes time interval of flooding treatments. The depth of flooding of 12 cm had produced the highest freshly weight of caisim with magnitude of 1.212 kg/m2 compared to 6 and 9 cm depth of flooding treatments.
