Abstract
Hospitalization in pre-school age of children would cause inconvenience. The pre-school age feel loss because of physical limitations, loss of routine, dependency, fear of injury and pain in the body. Separation with the family in this case will affect the child who regarded it as a feeling of abandonment. This hospitalization increased separation of anxiety in children. The concept of Family-Centered Care (FCC) as a philosophy in nursing care at the Hospital can be done because in this approach there interrelationships between health providers, patients and families that will minimize conflicts. Application of family-centered in care of pre-school age include policies, facilities and nurses. Policies related to visiting time, pre hospital-counseling, and procedures. And the facilities include a special assessment room of children, parents bed, longue, family photos, phone, play room, library and consulting room. The nurse must concern in application to uniform (colour, picture, etc), work methods, and routine in house training. And evaluation strategies that can be implemented is the socialization of the FCC, the pilot project, evaluation of pilot projects and applications on larger units. Conclusion that aplication of family centered care in pre-school care involves all aspects of the policies, facilities and nurses (staff) into a single-unit synergies in child care.
