Abstract

This study aims to describe the needs of mobile learning-based learning media, the design of learning media, and the feasibility of mobile learning-based learning media in learning to write short stories for class XI at SMA Negeri Sumatra Selatan. This research method is the research and development (R&D) method using a modified model to suit research needs, namely combining Borg & Gall and Alessi & Trollip. The stages of this research are conducting (1) research and collecting information/data; (2) planning; (3) development of the initial form of the product; (4) expert validation; and (5) product revision. The research data was collected through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the study show that learning media based on mobile learning are needed by students and also teachers. From the results of expert validation, this mobile learning-based short story writing learning media obtained a percentage score of 94% or very feasible for the material aspect, 77% (very feasible) for the language aspect, and 93% (very feasible) for the media aspect. Thus, this mobile learning-based learning media is appropriate for use in learning to write short stories. Therefore, it is hoped that schools and teachers can use it in learning.
