Abstract

ABSTRACT Various studies and literary experts offender perceptions of education (teachers) in the school institutions, both at the basic level (SD) and high school level (junior and senior) shows that the learning literature fail. Learning literature emphasizes just understanding the internal elements (cognitive domain) and take place in monotonous and dry regardless of the nature, which dulce et utile 'beauty and usefulness ' . Inevitably, such learning does not make a significant contribution in the formation of student character as announced in the 2013 curriculum. Fact, literature is able to make a positive impact in creating sublime nature and behavior of students through the process of catharsis in literature. Based on these issues, this paper aims to describe the process of learning literature (poetry) by an appreciative perspective of curriculum 2013. The research literature, literary learning which appreciative should consider the following things. (1) Teaching literature should be based literary text. (2) Teaching literature should use the scientific approach. (3) Learning literature involves cognitive, affective, and evaluative in reviewing the work. (4) Teaching literature should take place team (cooperative). (5) Teaching literature should use a variety of media (multimedia).
